This week we are focusing on the importance of volunteers in our community. Reading selections include: Destiny's Gift and Kids Making a Difference.
Writing: Descriptive Narratives: Students are completing historical fiction narratives about life aboard a ship back in 1492 with Christopher Columbus as the captain.
Math:
Chapter 2: Addition
Students continue to work on adding with trading to the thousandths place.

Our chrysalis are hanging in the larger butterfly cage now. On Monday, Painted Lady Butterflies began to emerge.
Homework:
Please preview your child's homework sheet each Monday. More details about weekly homework can be found under the homework tab. Reading homework stories may be read independently or with an adult depending on your child's reading level. Please sign your child's homework sheet each week when you have previewed the week's expectations. Be ready to take an AR test on your library book each week.
STAR STUDENT:
This week's STAR STUDENT is Haley Jones. Next week's Star Student is Kehndal Holm.
Each student will have a week when they get to be our classroom STAR STUDENT. On Tuesday of the STAR STUDENT week, the student will get to share the poster made in September. They may also bring in small items to share with the class and decorate the STAR STUDENT windowsill. Posters will be shared on Tuesday of each week. Classmates will complete a Star of the Week book each week for our Star Student.
