Congratulations to Room 18 students. Yes, they have filled the good behavior bank once again. Hooray!! On Friday, we will be having an afternoon "game day" reward activity. Students get to bring in their favorite board and family type games to share and play with classmates. We will also be having some simple clean finger snacks. I will bring in popcorn and goldfish crackers. Students are welcome to bring in other snacks to share. We would also enjoy a donation of 30 small bottled waters.
Friday is also Student Councils Spirit Day = Twin Day. Students can dress up like a friend or group of friends. Twins, triplets, etc... are all encouraged.
Language Arts and Science:
We continue with the theme Animal Habitats. This week student will be reading and studying chapter 4 for our science test on Wednesday.
Vocabulary: adaptation, biome, grassland, desert, tundra, wetland.
Science:
Our Wisconsin Fast Plants have sprouted and we are observing the seedling leaves. On Wednesday, we will prune our plants to focus on growing the healthiest seedling.
Animal Reports:
Students have chosen a grade level appropriate book about an animal to read and use to assist in the writing of an animal report. Students are completing the animal report information sheet M-W. W-F they will be working on completing the report posters. Most of this will be done in class but students may need to bring home some sections to finish.
Math: Division and Fractions:
We are finishing us our study of fractions this week.
Vocabulary: fraction, numerator, denominator, unit fraction, equivalent fraction
Homework:
For homework, students will have 2 math assignments, 1 page of spelling, science test study, and Jiji math fluency.
STAR STUDENT: On Tuesdays, the STAR OF THE WEEK will get to share their STAR STUDENT poster. Students can also bring in small items to share with the class and decorate the STAR STUDENT windowsill.
